Product: EliteBook 2540p
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

i just got the elitebook 2540p and wanted to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock my laptop but windows hello dosnt work with it and in device manager the bioetric device dosent even show up tryed a lot of diferent drivers for now but non of them worked, it showed a yellow explenation mark next to the device and windows hello still didnt work.

its not a big issue but just wanted to get it working 🙂

Did you buy your machine with Finger Print sensor option ? Not all machines have this option. There are few options for the series

 

  • optional HP Fingerprint Sensor;
  • optional HP Privacy Filter;
  • optional Computrace LoJack Pro Premium for HP ProtectTools with GPS Tracking

Otherwise your machine may have a window for finger print but no sensor undserneath.

im sorry but i ont know because i got it second hand

thir was hp protection tools installed on windows 7 before i upgraded to windows 10
