@Anji0411,Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're experiencing Windows Update issues due to a corrupted update database, here are some steps you can take to resolve the problem on your HP Notebook:

Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter

Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to automatically detect and fix issues with Windows Update. you may refer these guides:

Windows Update Troubleshooter - Microsoft Support

Troubleshoot problems updating Windows - Microsoft Support

You can run the troubleshooter.

Use the System File Checker (SFC) Tool

Corrupted system files might be causing the problem. Running the SFC tool can help repair these files.

  • Press the Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  • In the command window, type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • Wait for the scan to complete.

Run the DISM Tool

If the SFC tool didn’t fix the issue, try the DISM (Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool), which can fix Windows update problems.

  • Press the Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  • Type the following command and press Enter: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  • Wait for the process to complete, which might take a little time. Once finished, restart your computer.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
