Hi @Shortymac1010,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Notebook is failing to install the latest Windows 11 cumulative update (error code 0x800f0983), and you’re also facing driver conflicts while trying to play Fortnite. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve both the update and graphics driver issues.

a. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
 1. Press Windows + ISystem → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
 2. Find Windows Update and click Run.
 3. Allow it to detect and automatically fix any configuration issues.

b. Clear Windows Update Cache
 1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
 2. Locate Windows Update, right-click, and select Stop.
 3. Open File Explorer, go to:
  C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
 4. Delete all files inside the Download folder.
 5. Go back to Services, right-click Windows Update, and select Start.
 6. Retry the update by going to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.

c. Use the Windows Update Assistant (Manual Update)
 If the update still fails:
 1. Visit https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11.
 2. Click Windows 11 Installation Assistant and download it.
 3. Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest cumulative update manually.

d. Repair Corrupted System Files
 1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
 2. Run the following commands one at a time:
    sfc /scannow   DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
 3. Wait for both scans to complete and restart your computer once done.

I hope this helps.
