Hi @Hughtre

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering an issue with Wolf Security - Malware Prevention failing to download updates on the dashboard, it could be due to several factors, including internet connectivity issues, software conflicts, or misconfigured settings.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Ensure your device has a stable internet connection. Without internet access, the malware protection software won't be able to download updates.

  • Test your internet by opening a web browser and navigating to a website.
  • If you're using Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired connection if possible to rule out any Wi-Fi issues.
  • If the internet is working for other applications but Wolf Security can't download updates, the problem may lie with the software or settings.

2. Restart Your Computer

Sometimes, restarting your computer can resolve minor issues with software updates.

  • Restart your PC and try running the malware software again to see if it successfully downloads updates.

3. Check Firewall or Security Software Settings

Your firewall or any third-party antivirus software might be blocking the update process.

  1. Disable any third-party security software temporarily (such as other antivirus programs) and see if Wolf Security can download the updates.
  2. Check firewall settings to ensure that Wolf Security isn't being blocked. You may need to create an exception for Wolf Security in your firewall settings.

Windows Firewall:

  1. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall.
  2. Click Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.
  3. Ensure that Wolf Security is allowed to communicate through both private and public networks.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
