Hi all,

I'm using an HP Zbook G11 16-inch laptop with Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS OS. Recently,  a new version of BIOS notification came out, then I clicked to upgrade, and the problem happened. The BIOS vers:

 - Old: 01.06.01 Rev.A

 - New: 01.07.00 Rev.A

I don't have any issues with the laptop's shutdown and reboot on the old BIOS. But I can't shut down or reboot the laptop after upgrading to the BIOS to latest BIOS 01.07.00. It was totally frozen after clicking the Shutdown or Reboot buttons; the keyboard doesn't work at all. So I have to press the power button to do a hard shutdown & reset.

By searching with the error keywords on Google, it says the problem is caused by the Realtek card reader.

zbook-g11 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: Correctable error message received from 0000:56:00.0
zbook-g11 kernel: rtsx_pci 0000:56:00.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Correctable, type=Data Link Layer, (Transmitter ID)

I tried rolling back the old version BIOS, but it doesn't have the issue. So the issue hasn't been reproduced and it points to the BIOS.

The temporary fix is to disable the active PCIe power management in the kernel by adding the parameter in the GRUB:

"...quiet splash pcie_aspm=off"

Can you help review the new version of the BIOS and test it again? If there are suggests, free feel to leave a comment.

Thanks.
