HP Pavilion x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ek1000 (742H9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Laptop built in camera displays blank. Driver update, system update nothing was helpful in fixing it. HP virtual assistant support is of no use in solving this. The sales executives who recommended to buy this is also not responding to my calls. It's of no use in buying HP products.

@Yogesh7497, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry you're dealing with this camera issue, especially when it sounds like support hasn't been helpful. Let's work through some potential solutions together, step by step.

Check Camera Privacy Settings:

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.

Make sure "Camera access" is turned On for the device and apps.

Ensure specific apps (like Zoom, Skype, Teams, etc.) have permission to use the camera.

Device Manager Check:

Open Device Manager:

Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.

Look under Imaging Devices for your camera. It may show up as HP Wide Vision HD Camera or something similar.

Right-click on it and select Update Driver.

If it's already up-to-date, try Uninstalling the Device and then Restarting the laptop. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

Reinstall Camera Driver:

Visit HP Pavilion x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14-ek1038 (7Z9C3PA) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.

Look for Camera Drivers.

Download and install the latest version for your specific version of Windows 11.

Also, I suggest you refer to this guide for further troubleshooting steps: HP PCs - Troubleshoot the webcam (Windows 11 and Windows 10) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
