Hi @hanin2190

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Hi Hanin! It sounds like you’re experiencing an issue with the camera mirroring on your HP Pavilion x360 laptop, which can make your photos or video calls look like they're flipped horizontally.

If you've already tried adjusting settings but the mirroring issue persists, I'll walk you through some potential solutions and third-party apps that can help fix this.

1. Check Camera Settings in Windows 10/11

Before looking for third-party apps, let’s first ensure that the camera settings in Windows and apps like Camera or Zoom are set up correctly.

Option 1: Disable Camera Mirroring in Windows 10/11 Settings

Open the Camera app:

  • Press Windows + S and search for Camera to open the Camera app.

In the Camera app, click on the Settings icon (usually represented by a gear symbol in the top-right corner).

Look for the option "Mirror" or "Flip" (depending on the Camera app version) and disable it if it's enabled.

Note: The Camera app in Windows doesn’t always have a direct "mirroring" toggle, so if this option is not present, let’s move to the next step.

Option 2: Check Your Video Calling App Settings

Some video calling apps, like Zoom, Skype, or Teams, allow you to control whether your camera shows a mirrored or normal view.

Zoom:

  1. Open Zoom.
  2. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner and go to Settings.
  3. Select the Video section and uncheck "Mirror my video".

Skype:

  1. Open Skype.
  2. Go to Settings > Audio & Video.
  3. Uncheck "Mirror my video" if that option is enabled.

Microsoft Teams:

  1. Open Teams.
  2. Go to Settings > Devices.
  3. Under Camera, you should find options to adjust how the video appears.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello,

but you didnt provide me with any answers. I already mentioned that I tried the settings in the camera app itself and there are no options there to stop the mirroring. And I am not asking for zoom or teams, i dont need these for photos and i know how to fix them. My issue is on the camera app itself. please provide me with an actual solution or give me steps and options for third party methods

Hi @hanin2190,

I understand how annoying it can be when your camera automatically mirrors your photos. While the settings for turning off camera mirroring can depend on the specific app you're using (like the Camera app or a third-party app), here's a general guide to help you disable mirroring on your HP Pavilion laptop's camera:

Steps to Turn Off Camera Mirroring:

1. Using the Windows Camera App:

If you're using the Camera app built into Windows, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Camera app (you can find it by searching for "Camera" in the Start menu).
  2. Click the Settings gear icon in the upper-left corner of the Camera app.
  3. In the settings menu, look for a setting called "Mirror photo" or "Mirror selfies" (it might be listed under "Video settings" or "Photo settings").
  4. Toggle the option off to disable mirroring.

If you can't find this setting directly in the Camera app, it’s possible that mirroring is controlled by the camera's default settings or drivers.

2. Adjusting the Camera Settings in Device Manager:

Sometimes, you might need to tweak the driver settings for your webcam to turn off mirroring. Here’s how to do that:

  1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand the Imaging Devices section.
  3. Right-click your webcam (it should be listed here) and select Properties.
  4. Go to the Driver tab and select Update Driver to make sure you have the latest drivers.
  5. If updating doesn’t help, click on the Details tab and check for camera settings there. Some webcams might have advanced settings where you can disable the mirroring effect.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
