Hi,
I cannot use the touchpad or external mouse with MS Word/Excel.
With other apps the mouse is woking fine.
With MS Word I can use the mouse in the menu but not in the document.
I cannot select text or format picture with mouse.
This works when I use the touchscreen but I like to use the mouse for this.
From other people I hear that this is not a problem with their chromebooks.
My chromebook is a HP Chromebook x360 (14b-ca0500nd).

The following is from the Microsoft Community (at this writing, three years ago):
The second solution suggests checking "add-ins" and trying the Office repair options.
The only thing I can find in my own version of Office Word (Microsoft Office Professional 2019) is the setting that would "default" to a pen. I have no idea whether this is relevant to your situation - if you are using a Pen, it might be worth checking.
Word document > File > Advanced > Section Pen
I don't have a Chromebook - anything else is outside of my area of expertise...

thanks for your reaction.
The suggestions don't work for the MS Word app.
I'm suprised not many people are using word or excel on their chromebook.
Can anyone please respond if they can use the mouse/touchpad in ms word/excel on HP chromebook 360 ?
Right now i'm not sure whether this is a bug or not supported.
