HP Pavilion 14 chromebook

i have the above chromebook- warranty has expired- it works fine for my uses- do i need to continue to install updates? if so, how do i do this?

It will continue to work but no updates. Sort of like Microsoft sets limits on how long they provide updates to each OS they release. Windows 7 is reaching the end of updates  in Jan,2020  but many people will continue using it.

Your software is maintained and updated by Google-for five years from hardware launch .A Chromebook usually automatically checks for and downloads updates when connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
