Hi  @tae3341

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that the cursor on your HP M220 mouse is moving in the opposite direction than expected. I'll be glad to help you look into this.

To better understand the issue, could you kindly provide a few details?

  • Is the HP M220 mouse connected via USB receiver or Bluetooth?
  • Does the cursor move in the opposite direction in all applications, or only in specific programs?
  • Have you tested the mouse on another computer to see if the behaviour is the same?

In the meantime, kindly try the following steps and confirm :

  1. Disconnect the mouse and reconnect it to a different USB port.
  2. Restart the computer and test the mouse again.
  3. Check your mouse settings:
    • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse (Windows 11)
    • Verify that no accessibility or custom pointer settings have been enabled.
  4. If available, test the mouse on another PC to determine whether the issue is related to the mouse or the computer settings.
  5. Open Device Manager, expand Mice and other pointing devices, right-click the mouse driver, and select Uninstall device. Then restart the computer to allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
