Goodmorning everyone. I am looking for updated Windows 10 drivers for the EliteBook 8560w, it is true that the product is old, but the hardware is great and I imagine it can keep working for a long time. The problem is with unrecognized controllers and peripherals. Thanks for any help

Hi:

I don't know what drivers you are missing, but I know you are probably missing the SD card reader driver.

For that one, you use the W8.1 driver from your notebook's support page.

The JMicron Media Card Reader Driver enables the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

Please post the device description and the hardware ID for the devices that need drivers.

You can post the device description in Italian if you want, since I understand Italian (my grandparents on my mother's side were from Sicily).

Thank you for your support and language disponibility, you are very kind. I am missing almost all the drivers, the PC was reinstalled cleanly, Windows 10 recognized many drivers, while others are missing, such as those indicated by the image below:

I managed to install "HP HotKey Support" (sp91903 and it is workly properly) but the main controller management is still missing, I suppose.

Also missing all the energy management part of the PC. I also found many drivers in this site (https://drp.su/en/laptops/hp/elitebook-8560w?os=windows-10-x64) but they are almost all old, I don't think it's a good idea to replace them with those installed automatically by windows 10

If I can found some site to download the lost drivers I will be very happy !!

I think it is still a great PC, I upgraded it with 16Gb of RAM and 1Tb SSD.

Here is the driver you need for the PCI Simple Communications Controller...

This package provides the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Management Engine Interface enables communication between the host operating system and the Intel Management Engine firmware.

This package provides the HP 3D DriveGuard software for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. HP 3D DriveGuard protects the hard drive by "parking the heads" if the notebook is accidentally dropped or is abruptly impacted by another object.

The other unknown device probably needs this driver...install this one last if the above sp64144 driver installs the one unknown device.

This package contains the driver that enables the Validity Fingerprint Sensor in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The fingerprint sensor scans fingerprints for use with biometric security applications.

You will need to manually install sp58900 because I don't believe that after you run the exe file the device will get installed.

To do that, click on the unknown device needing the driver.   Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for drivers and browse to the location where the driver folder was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp58900.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

If you use the fingerprint scanner to log into Windows, then you will also need to install the HP Client Security Manager software for W10 so you can enroll your fingerprint.

HP Client Security Manager provides enhanced Windows login and website single-sign-on capabilities. Security Manager is also the host for HP Client Security plugins, and therefore, should be installed before other Client Security modules. This package is provided for supported models that are running a supported operating system.

Hi Paul, the drivers are all installed correctly. The guide you provided was helpful, very helpful. In summary,

I understood that you need to install Windows 10 and let it install most of the drivers, because most drivers are correctly recognised,  then provide to install the drivers unknown to FTP site you provide.

The EliteBook is ready for Win10!

Hi Paul,
    I need to ask this again if it's possible: the EliteBook 8560W laptop works fine but I noticed that the USB 3 controller is not very fast, probably its drivers are not updated properly. I have a Samsung external SSD and tested on another newer laptop it produces three times the performance. The laptop has interface 3.0 and not 3.1, therefore the same interface.
Can I find newer drivers for HP 8560w?

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for you regarding the USB 3.

There are no standalone W8 - W10 USB 3 drivers for USB 3 controllers, because they were all incorporated into the W8 - W10 driver database.
