New Omen laptop, I use my own Windows installer. Trying to install all the drivers, most look like they install but aren't. Particular issue is Gaming hub to turn on keyboard lights. Have tried running the installers from network, then local. AV and malware did not flag anything but disabled them to try again. Any suggestions?
Edit- Gaming Hub installed from M$ store.

@pbroussard, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Driver Issues on an OMEN Laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like you're having trouble getting the necessary drivers and the OMEN Gaming Hub to function correctly on your new OMEN laptop. Here are several steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Install HP System Event Utility: Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP System Event Utility (HPSEU) installed, as it is required for full functionality of the OMEN Gaming Hub. This utility can be downloaded directly from the Microsoft Store.
Use HP Support Assistant: HP Support Assistant is a useful tool for installing and updating drivers. It comes pre-installed on most HP laptops or can be downloaded from the HP Support Assistant page. Follow these steps:
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Click on the Updates tab.
- Check for updates and install all available updates.
Manual Driver Installation: If using the support assistant does not resolve the issue, you may need to manually download and install drivers from the HP website:
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter your laptop model.
- Download and install the latest drivers for your specific model, starting with the chipset driver.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any updates.
Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub: Since you installed OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store, try reinstalling it:
- Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub: Go to Settings > Apps, find OMEN Gaming Hub, and uninstall it.
- Restart your laptop.
- Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store.
BIOS Update: Ensure your BIOS is up to date, as this can sometimes resolve driver issues:
- Visit the HP driver download page for your laptop.
- Download and install the latest BIOS update.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
