drivers windows 10 hp pavilion 1199ev

hello! and a happy new year!!
i got a pavilion dv5 1199ev it was running on win 7 everything was fine!
i upgrade it to win 10 and now my screen is black and some base system hardware has no drivers and cant be found from windows update neither for hp assisasnt software.  i use anoither monitor to try and solve the problem. anyhelp would be nice

You have a couple of issues...

1. Your notebook is not supported for W10 since it was made prior to 2013 and no W10 drivers exist.

So for any devices that need drivers, you have to hope the W7 drivers work.

2. HP retired support for the dv5-1100 model series since it is more than 10 years old, which is why you cannot find any drivers for it.

Here is the W7 driver you need for the base system devices...

For the black screen, see if this works...

Go into the power options menu in the control panel and disable the fast startup option.

What model graphics adapter does your PC have?   Nvidia or Intel?

No doubt you need to install the graphics driver if your notebook has the Nvidia graphics.

If it had the onboard Intel graphics W10 should have installed the graphics driver automatically.

hi and thanks for your replay! i did the steps with the battery.
I try some others drivers. Now my screen displays at 3parts from th 4 (3/4 screen display)
graphic card Nvidia gforce m9600gt

You're very welcome.

OK, see if this works to install the W7 Nvidia graphics driver on W10...

1. Download and install this free file utility...the 1st link at the top of the page is for Windows 32 bit.

7-Zip (7-zip.org)

Then download and save, but do not run this W7 32 bit Nvidia graphics driver for your model notebook.

After you save the graphics driver file, right click on it, and select 7-zip from the list of items on the menu.

Have 7-zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp41696).

Once that is done, go to the device manager.  Click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for drivers option, and browse to the driver folder that 7-zip created.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC and see if the graphics is all fixed.

If you need drivers for any other devices, please post the hardware ID's for those devices.

nope didnt work.
drivers install, but still 3/4 srceen display.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

I suggest you go back to W7 while you still can.

it seems a little odd though
it works just fine on the external monitor.
but on the laptops screen not.

Yes, it is definitely odd, because if the device manager shows the Nvidia m9600gt graphics adapter, and you indicated the driver I gave you installed, it should be working normally, and why it isn't, is a complete mystery to me.

ok one last thing and i'm turning to win7.
In device manager/ monitor
says:  Generic Non-PnP Monitor
Is there a problem here?

Hi:

Every notebook display panel has that description.

There are no drivers for that.

Before you revert to W7, check all of the notebook display properties...Make sure landscape is set, and not portrait.

Make sure the screen resolution is set to optimal.

Check everything you can think of because if the display driver wasn't right, you wouldn't even be able to use the external display.
