hello , my son wants to use this laptop for computer games and wondered if anyone can tell me the best option for extra memory for this type of laptop? I have been looking at SD cards but there seems to be conflicting information for whether an sd card would hold apps so I was trying to find an external hard drive and would be really grateful with some help in the right direction of what is compatible with this laptop.

Sorry to say, that computer is NOT for games. Well it is ok for some low games. From my view, external HDD won't help, he will break it in no time. 

 

You can ADD SD card up to 128GB to that machine and some (not all) applications, games allow you to install on SD card.
