Hi @DawaD,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion 15's camera looks washed out during webinars, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check lighting conditions: Ensure that you have adequate lighting in the room. Insufficient lighting can lead to a washed-out appearance. Try positioning yourself in a well-lit area, preferably facing the light source.
- Adjust camera settings: Most video conferencing apps allow you to adjust camera settings such as brightness, contrast, and saturation. Experiment with these settings to find the best configuration for your environment.
- Clean the camera lens: Sometimes, a smudged or dirty camera lens can cause image quality issues. Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the lens and remove any dirt or fingerprints.
- Update camera drivers: Ensure that your HP Pavilion 15's camera drivers are up to date. You can usually find driver updates on the HP support website or through Windows Update.
- Disable auto-adjustment: Some cameras have automatic settings that adjust brightness and contrast based on ambient light. Disabling these automatic adjustments in your camera settings might help improve image quality.
- Use external lighting: If the built-in camera still produces poor quality images, consider using an external webcam with better image quality. External webcams often provide more control over settings and can deliver higher-quality video.
- Check for software conflicts: Sometimes, other software running on your computer can interfere with your webcam's performance. Try closing unnecessary applications or performing a clean boot to see if this resolves the issue.
- Update video conferencing software: Ensure that the video conferencing software you're using is up to date. Developers frequently release updates that address performance issues and bugs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @DawaD,
Thank you for your response,
To access the camera settings on an HP Pavilion 15 when not in video conference mode, you typically have to use the pre-installed camera software or the operating system's camera settings. Here's how you can do it.
Using Pre-installed Camera Software:
- Look for a camera application pre-installed on your HP Pavilion 15. This might be called something like "HP Camera" or "HP Webcam."
- Open the camera application.
- Once the camera application is open, there should be an option or menu for settings. This could be represented by a gear icon or the word "Settings." Click on it to access camera settings.
- In the settings menu, you should be able to adjust various camera settings such as brightness, contrast, resolution, etc.
Using Operating System Settings:
- If you're using Windows, you can access camera settings through the Windows Settings menu:
- Press the Windows key on your keyboard or click on the Windows icon in the taskbar to open the Start menu.
- Click on the gear icon (Settings) to open the Windows Settings menu.
- In the Settings menu, select "Privacy."
- On the left-hand side, scroll down and select "Camera."
- Under "Camera access for this device," ensure that camera access is turned on.
- Below that, you'll see an option to "Allow apps to access your camera." Make sure this is turned on if you want to use other applications with your camera.
- Scroll down to find the list of apps that can access your camera. You can manage permissions for individual apps here.
- Additionally, you might find a link to "Change camera settings." Clicking on this link should take you to further camera settings where you can adjust things like brightness, contrast, etc.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
