Thank you for your response.
The last time I was able to log in to computer was Monday just passed.
I haven't changed any software or hardware.
I did try your suggestion of changing my Outlook password but that didn't work. I didnt link my computer sign in with my Outlook so it makes sense that it wouldnt work.
I found a site online that suggests downloading a program on to a USB and then using it to bypass the log in and reset it using bios. It's called "Iseepassword".It was in a Windows site so I assumed it would be safe to use. This was also after Monday and didn't work.
I have also tried to do a system restore ( keeping my files etc) and that also didn't work.
Am currently using my son's tablet to check emails etc.
Thanks

Thank you for the information.
Looks like you have a local account on your computer. I recommend you perform a reset on the computer and then you will be able to create a new password.
Follow the steps in the below article to perform a reset on your computer.

I get an "unable to reset " message in my computer when I try the Windows Rec Enviroment
System reset through controls isnt applicable-I can't open the computer past the"Welcome" window that displays when you first open the computer.
Doing a reset on my laptop doesn't give me an option to save any files anyhow. But it does wipe out all the files that I don't want to lose
I have tried this already anyhow. And system restore doesn t work.
There needs to be a "backdoor" way in. And not through a Windows Outlook etc
When I click "Reset password" below where you would enter password, I get a pop-up that says "This feature requires removable media such as a USB Flash drive. Please connect etc.... "
I'm unbelievably frustrated with xthis

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
Using a password reset disk is Microsoft's official method to reset a lost Windows password. The only downside of this method is that you need to create a Windows 10 password reset disk before your password is lost.
If you have created a password reset disk, you can easily set a new password for signing in to your Windows 10 computer. Check out this tutorial: How to Use a Password Reset Disk in Windows 10.
I recommend you try with another administrator account, there is a good chance you can open an elevated Command Prompt and reset Windows 10 password easily.
Simply press Windows logo key + X on your keyboard to open the Quick Access menu and click Command Prompt (Admin). To reset your forgotten password, type the following command and press Enter. Replace account_name and new_password with your username and desired password respectively.
net user account_name new_password
If the issue still persists the only way to reset the password is by doing a recovery on the computer. While doing the recovery you can save your file and reinstall the operating system.
Follow the steps in the below article to perform a recovery on the computer.

Hi again
I can not use a disc for password access as I didn't create one.
I can not use thé "press Windows logo and x........." And use command because I can't access the Windows 10 screen. I need to be able to access the command bar before Windows sets up. Therefore I can not use the Quick Access menu.
The screen I see when I turn my laptop on is a lake with mountains- I can not get past that screen to USE the os. that is the password I need to access

Thank you for the information.
On the password screen you will see the ease of access icon on the right hand bottom of the screen.
Please refer to the below image.
If you continue to face the issue, I recommend you perform a recovery on the computer as it is the only solution.
