the front usb port on my desktop does not recognize any device i install.  diagnostics sow all working correctly.  any help appreciated. thank you.

I understand that the front side USB ports on your HP Pavilion Power 580-137c Desktop PC  are not working. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

 

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details: 

  • Are the USB ports at the back of the PC working fine?
  • Did any software changes or updates take place recently?
  • Do you receive an error message when trying o use the front USB ports?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix: 

NOTE: PLease skip any steps that you have already attempted before?

 

  • Power off the PC.
  • Disconnect the power cable and all other cables and devices from the PC.
  • Press and hold the PC's power button for 10 seconds and then release them.
  • Reconnect the power cable, keyboard, mouse and the monitor. Power on the PC.

 

The front side of the PC has an USB 3.0 port only. At the back side of the PC there are two USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 ports. Please check if all the ports at the back detect the USB devices properly.

 

Also, I suggest you to perform the steps as described in detail from this HP article. These steps help in fixing various USB related issues.
