Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Is it a brand new laptop?  If it is brand new, the warranty should not be expired.

You may want to check with Currys.

Thanks.

First, check at http://support.hp.com that the warranty really is expired.

Second, talk to the Store Manager, and ask for the name/phone of the Regional Manager.

Third, talk to the local TV station.  Sometimes, they have an employee that reports stories about "consumer rip-off", and that usually causes the company to react to the bad publicity.

Example: http://www.cbc.ca/news/gopublic

Third, take it back, and get a refund (or exchange).

@Grbalbert

What no one bothered to tell you is that HP sets the warranty to expire one year from the date of manufacture -- NOT the date of purchase.  So, while it is rare for a PC to sit on a shelf for over a year, it can happen.

Sorry, but this is just a community self-help forum staffed by volunteers. HP maintains no official presence here and we are not authorized to deal with warranty issues.  For these issues, you will need to contact HP Customer Support directly and tell them about the already-epxired warranty and that you want to (1) register your PC for the warranty, and (2) reset the warranty expiration date.

Curry's is not going to be able to do this; you have to contact HP.

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

Good Luck
