Hello @DamaniDada200,

There are a few possible solutions to the "Plugged in, not charging issue."

Firstly, try uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

  1. Search Device Manager
  2. Find and expand Batteries
  3. Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
  4. Select Uninstall
  5. Restart

There may also be issues with the BIOS and chipset drivers.

A power reset to drain all residual power may also help. If the laptop battery is non-removable, ignore steps #2 and #4.

  1. Unplug the AC adapter
  2. Remove the Battery
  3. Hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds
  4. Reinsert the Battery
  5. Plug in the AC adapter

To check whether this issue lies in the battery or the AC adapter itself, follow the below steps:

  1. Repeatedly press Esc upon startup
  2. Select F2 (System Diagnostics)
  3. Select the desired language
  4. Navigate to component tests
  5. Select Power source test (If the Power source test is unavailable, conduct the Battery and AC adapter tests separately)

If the Battery or AC adapter test displays a failure, and you are under warranty, it is recommended that you contact HP.

Contact HP Worldwide here.

Phone HP Worldwide here.

Check warranty status here.

Find an HP Authorized Service Center near you here.

If you are out of warranty and have a failing part, you must replace the part yourself for proper, continued usage of the laptop. Let me know if the test fails, you're out of warranty, and you're interested in purchasing a replacement.

Let us know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Eddy
