is it possible to permanently disable the touchpad?

You can disable the touchpad through software/driver but the only way to completely disable it is by unplugging it from the motherboard.  Not all computers can do this as some combine the touchpad and keyboard into one connector.

Hi LeonardoFabbro,

The easiest method to disabling the trackpad is:

  1. In search, type "Mouse Settings"
  2. On that page, find "Additional Mouse Options"
  3. Then find the "Clickpad Settings" tab
  4. You'll find Clickpad Disable/Enable

Hope this answers your question,

Do you use an external mouse when you use the computer?  if so then there is an option to disable the touchpad when an external input device is being used.  (AKA USB Mouse, Bluetooth Mouse, etc.)

Yeah try disabling the trackpad when you have an external USB pointing device plugged in.

This can be done by:

  1. Search Mouse Settings
  2. Find Additional mouse options
  3. Then on the Clickpad Settings Tab, you'll see "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached"

This should do the trick.
