The new HP laptop I bought came with extra HP built-in software for security. Unfortunately, when I want to view a PDF file from the internet, the HP SURE click overrides my preferences, and will NOT print the document correctly.

Hi @Nick773,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like HP Sure Click, a security feature designed to protect your computer from malware and other online threats, might be causing compatibility issues with printing PDF files. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue.
- Disable HP Sure Click for the PDF file: You can try temporarily disabling HP Sure Click when you need to print a PDF file. Right-click on the HP Sure Click icon in the system tray (usually located in the bottom right corner of the screen), and see if there's an option to temporarily disable it. Once you've printed the PDF file, you can re-enable HP Sure Click.
- Adjust HP Sure Click settings: Check the settings of HP Sure Click to see if there's an option to allow printing PDF files without interference. Look for any settings related to document printing or PDF file handling and adjust them accordingly.
- Use an alternative PDF viewer: If HP Sure Click continues to cause issues with printing PDF files, consider using a different PDF viewer. There are several free PDF viewers available, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, Foxit Reader, or Sumatra PDF. Set one of these as your default PDF viewer and see if you encounter the same printing issues.
- Update HP Sure Click: Make sure that HP Sure Click is up to date. Sometimes, software updates include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve compatibility issues with printing PDF files.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the printing issue caused by HP Sure Click.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
