Hey,
I have recently been trying to use the HP Command Center to no avail. The main issue arises when choosing a thermal profile, the application does work, no issues with any of the hp sysinfo service, the app opens and loads, and every other feature works as intended. To elaborate, when opening the app the balanced thermal profile is already selected when choosing any other thermal profile it will load for a second only to revert back to the balanced profile. If anyone knows how to resolve this it would be a true godsend.

Hi @strakaaaa1 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with the HP Command Center on your HP ENVY 16 Inch Laptop PC and are unable to select a different thermal profile, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Update HP Command Center: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the HP Command Center. Visit the HP website or the Microsoft Store to download and install the latest version.
Windows Update: Make sure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Check for and install any available updates through Windows Update.
Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software glitches. Restart your laptop and see if the issue persists.
Reinstall HP Command Center: Uninstall the HP Command Center from your laptop and then reinstall it. This can help in fixing any corrupted files or settings.
Check for Driver Updates: Ensure that all your laptop drivers are up to date, especially graphics and chipset drivers. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
Check for Background Applications: Some third-party applications or background processes may interfere with the HP Command Center. Try closing unnecessary applications before using the Command Center.
Run as Administrator: Right-click on the HP Command Center shortcut and select "Run as Administrator." This ensures that the application has the necessary permissions.
HP System Event Utility: Ensure that the HP System Event Utility is installed and up to date. This utility is often required for the proper functioning of HP applications.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hey,
I appreciate the advice and while I not may have mentioned it in the original post I went through all of those prior troubleshooting steps, the issue persists, though I believe I may have discovered another issue when turning on my laptop for the first time in the day, my laptop being cool at the time it allowed me control but after my laptop had warmed up a bit, it would no longer allow me to change and the issue returned. any other possible solutions
