Thanks for the quick reply. Your time and patience are greatly appreciated. It is also great to have you back.
Please try these steps:
- First, uninstall HP support assistant from Windows control panel Apps and programs.
- Then restart the computer.
- Then create a new local user account as an administrator from this link: http://hp.care/2rZfJBC
- Restart the computer again.
- Log in to the new user account.
- Now download HP support assistant from the hp support site and install it on your computer.
- Now check if the issue gets resolved.
- This should do the trick for you.

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- Did you uninstall HP support assistant and reinstall it and check if it works?
- Is it HP support assistant or is it another application that is causing this error?
- Please share a screenshot or image of the exact error message to assist you better.
For now, please perform these steps:
- If it is an issue with HP support assistant then perform all the recommended steps from this link: http://hp.care/2vcbKTL (HP PCs - Troubleshooting HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7)) that best describe the current issue.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. This should do the trick for you.

I downloaded "hp support assistant" (sp82049, version 8.5.37.19) from hp-site and installed it. But I did not detected such options as OPERATING SYSTEM & BUNDLED SOFTWARE TROUBLESHOOTING?

the following tools are available to troubleshoot software and driver issues.
· Bundled software troubleshooting
· Operating system troubleshooting
· Add/Remove Programs
To troubleshoot software that was bundled on your computer, click Bundled software Troubleshooting. A Bundled software Troubleshooting window opens. Follow the onscreen instructions to use this tool.
Check each of these options listed below from the above-mentioned link.
- Downloading and installing the latest version of HP Support Assistant
- Opening HP Support Assistant
- Changing HP Support Assistant settings
- My Devices - Specifications, troubleshooting, and device specific information
- My Services - Manage your subscribed services
- Support - Find HP support options
- Profile - Update your HP Passport profile
