HP ENVY m7 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

recent issues with windows [no edge browers icon]. I have a microsoft assure program which gives me tech support and repair. When i brought my notebook in because of above issue I was told that they would do a erase and clean install on my notebook. Not realizing the preinstalled software would be lost. So i purchesed the HP recovery media kit. Is the origanal software that was preinstalled part of that kit and do i have to completely restore operating system windows 10 64-bit also. Is there a way to just install missing software?

The Recovery Media installs everything that was originally on the laptop- with exception of Office trial in many cases. I do not know of a way to siimply install the bundled software- it is a complete reinstall Of Windows & original software/drivers.

Depending on what you are looking for most of the software/drivers are available to download from your Support page.

Get your full Model number or Product number from the Service Tag attached to bottom of laptop (may be under battery)

Once you have the info, use the button at top of this page titled "Support", then click "Software and Drivers" from the menu. On the next page enter your Model Number. After entering  click 'Find my product' button. On the next page be sure correct OS is selected-if not Edit to change.A list will populate with drivers/software.

Hi

Its great that you have the recovery media with you. With this, you can clean install OS, like a fresh new PC. regarding the missing software, if you remember the name of the software and you were a licensed customer, i am sure the software vendor will also have your details. calling the software vendor and collecting the lincence key will resolve your issue.

And you can then install, (the only softwares) you want.

Hope this helps

Regards

Arick
