HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4W0AV)

Need help. My laptop freezes... somewhat. Basically, every now and then, the device freezes but the mouse can still move and hover to things. I can also type as long as I do it within the tab where it froze. I just can't click on anything. alt + tab works but it won't let you choose which tab to put in front. It will always display the tab where it freezes. The only solution that works for me is to open task manager via ctrl+alt+del and close all tabs there. The problem is this happens even if i only have 2 tabs like chrome browser and a folder tab. It's a bit of hassle to always restart via task manager. Please help me find a solution for this one. I already scan for threats and malware and there is none on my laptop. I don't have any apps or files yet as well(other than documents and photos that i transferred). The laptop is also brand new. I only purchased this last month.

Hi@arckie,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP 15.6 Inch Laptop PC Freezes.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi@arckie,

Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine whether the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures.

If the issue persists then it could be a hardware issue on the PC. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out.
