Hello, I have an old Presarrio C555ea that I have not used it for a long time. Now I want to give it a ne life therefore I want to upgrade the RAM but unfortunatelly it can only support 2 gb. IS there a Bios update that acceps 4 gb. Currentlly I have only one dimm of 2gb and If I add another one I get a black screen.

It is really strage, because I have read some older forum posts that are stateing some C500 laptops running 4gb ram, but not listing the solution.
I am now on F.15 do you suggest I shoult update to F.24A ?
BTW i have added the intel Core 2 Duo T5500 i hope F24A still supports this CPU, otherwise I will need to revert back to F.15.

You're very welcome.
BIOS updates are cumulative, so if the T5500 works on F.15, it will work on F.24.
None of the BIOS updates indicate added support for 4 GB of memory.
I would run the free crucial memory scan tool and see what it reports.

So I've made some reasearch and it seems like the limitation to only 2GB of ram is hardware related. My mainboard has the intel 943 chip which has the limit of only 2 GB. If I would hav had the Intel 945 than I would be in luck.
