@Alejandro711, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Basic Checks
Make sure Windows is up to date.
Restart your computer and try the fingerprint reader again.
Check if the fingerprint option appears under:
Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options
Device Manager Check
Right-click Start → click Device Manager
Look under Biometric Devices or Universal Serial Bus controllers
If there's a yellow triangle, it indicates a driver issue
If it's missing, the system may not detect it — could be a hardware or driver problem
Update or Reinstall Fingerprint Driver
Go to HP ENVY x360 - 15-dr1075cl Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Download the latest fingerprint sensor driver
Install the driver and restart your system
Check Windows Biometric Service
Press Win + R, type services.msc, hit Enter
Scroll to Windows Biometric Service
Ensure it’s:
Running
Startup type:Automatic
If it's stopped, right-click and Start it
Remove and Re-register Fingerprints
Go to Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options
Under Fingerprint Recognition, remove any saved fingerprints
Click Set up again and follow instructions to re-register your fingerprint
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
