Hi @Adarsh40
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If you're noticing keyboard marks on the screen of your HP 14-inch Laptop PC 14-f1000 (2L1A9AV), here are some steps you can take to clean the screen and prevent further marks:
Clean the Screen:
- Turn Off the Laptop: Make sure your laptop is turned off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Use a Microfiber Cloth: Gently wipe the screen with a dry, soft microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and dust.
- Moisten if Necessary: If marks persist, slightly dampen the microfiber cloth with a mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol (a 70:30 mixture is effective) and gently wipe the screen in a circular motion. Avoid spraying any liquid directly onto the screen.
- Dry the Screen: Use a dry part of the microfiber cloth to remove any moisture from the screen.
Prevent Future Marks:
- Use a Keyboard Cover: Consider using a silicone keyboard cover that fits your laptop model to prevent direct contact between the keyboard and the screen.
- Close the Lid Gently: Always close the laptop lid gently and avoid placing heavy objects on top of the laptop to prevent additional pressure.
- Soft Inserts: Use a soft cloth or special screen protector insert between the keyboard and the screen when closing the laptop. This can help pad and protect the screen from direct contact.
Regular Maintenance:
- Clean your laptop screen regularly as part of your maintenance routine to prevent any buildup of oils and dirt which can lead to more permanent marks over time.
