@Kevin524, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Turning Off the "Power on Lid Open" Feature on HP OmniBook 5 16 inch Laptop AI PC 16-af1000!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OmniBook 5 16 inch Laptop powers on when you open the lid and you would like to disable this feature, follow the steps below to modify the settings in BIOS:
Restart your laptop:
- Save any open documents and close all applications.
- Restart your laptop by clicking on the 'Start' menu, selecting 'Power', and then 'Restart'.
Enter BIOS Setup:
- As your laptop restarts and before Windows loads, press the Esc key repeatedly (on some models, it may be the F2 or Del key) until the Startup Menu opens.
- Press the F10 key to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
Navigate to the Power Management Settings:
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to the Power tab or any similar tab that mentions power management features.
Locate "Power on Lid Open" or similar setting:
- Look for an option that mentions "Power on Lid Open" or "Wake on Lid Open". This setting allows the laptop to power on automatically when the lid is opened.
Disable the Feature:
- Use the Enter key to select the feature, and then modify its setting to Disable.
Save and Exit BIOS:
- Press the F10 key to save the changes and exit the BIOS setup.
- Confirm the changes by selecting 'Yes' when prompted.
Restart Your Laptop:
- Your laptop should now restart with the new settings applied. The feature to power on when the lid is opened should be disabled.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
