HP Pavilion - 15-cc055od

I am trying to run the Windows 11 but after changing the hard drive, my laptop cant find the driver. chatgpt says "

(If SSD Still Not Detected): Use Intel Generic RST Driver .INF File

Since you can’t get .INF from HP, get it from Intel:

  1. Download this official Intel RST driver ZIP package that contains .INF files:
Intel RST F6 Floppy Driver (v17.9.1.1009)

  2. Extract the ZIP file.

  3. Copy the extracted folder to a USB drive.

  4. During Windows Setup, when your SSD isn’t detected, choose Load Driver.

  5. Browse to the USB folder containing the .INF files.

  6. Select the correct .INF file to load the driver." but I can't find the .info

Hi @need123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand you’re having trouble installing Windows 11 after replacing the hard drive on your HP Pavilion - 15-cc055od. Specifically, Windows Setup does not detect your new drive, and we appreciate the steps you’ve already attempted.

Before we proceed with advanced driver loading, let’s first run the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics to confirm whether the system is detecting the new drive at a hardware level.

Run F2 Hardware Diagnostics to Detect Storage Drive

  1. Make sure the laptop is fully powered off.
  2. Power it on and immediately press F2 repeatedly (once per second).
  3. This will launch the HP UEFI Diagnostics Menu.
  4. Select Component Tests > Hard Drive (or Storage Test).
  5. Wait for the test to run. It will confirm:
    • Whether the SSD/HDD is detected
    • If any hardware issues exist

If the drive does not appear, please double-check the connection and compatibility of the SSD.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
