HP Spectre x360 - 13t-aw000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a notebook Spectre with windows 10, one year old.  I purchased an external CD/DVD RW drive to watch my own videos and music.  The drive is Ziweo brand.  Bringing up music was no problem but can't get a video to  auto run or run at all.  Is there software needed to do this that doesn't come with the Spectre?  Is it possible to watch DVDS from the external drive with this notebook, if so, how is it done?

Hi:

W10 does not come with any DVD playing software.

I recommend that you use the free VLC media player you can get from the Microsoft Store.

Thank You!  I will give that a try.

You're very welcome.

It appears that VLC Media Player only works on DVDs if you get the Pro version and pay $5.99 every 3 months.  Was a good try.

Hi:

Unless they changed the requirements recently, I am running that very version installed from the Microsoft Store for free to play DVD's on some of my HP notebooks.

Try the version from their site.
