Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

help - I have a hp split x2 laptop that I havent used since September 2018. I cannot remember the login password but now need to use it -I have tried the hard reset option but it keeps asking me for media that I don't have - please advise how I can reset (I am prepared to lose everything on the laptop) so that I can use it thanks
