Hi 🙂,

[Hoping there's an option to fix this *prior* to resorting to a system restore.

Similarly, given that I recently reinstalled the OS, let's please exhaust all (previously unattempted) troubleshooting steps *prior* to recommending another re-installation/system reset, etc.

I've searched these forums and the web in general for a solution, but nothing's worked so far... ]

➡️Starting here:

https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html

Downloaded the latest version of HP Support Assistant ("Version 9.6.598.0 / 8.8.24.33", "sp102329.exe")

Please note, my account already has Administrator rights enabled.

After restarting Windows and trying the installation again, the same 'admin rights required' message appears.

➡️So am I missing any other troubleshooting steps? If not, is anyone aware of how to fix this specifically?

(Again, intending to avoid a system restore/reset/clean install, etc unless there's no other way.)

Thanks in advance for any assistance! 😉

Hi,

Update is that I did a system restore, which fixed some other unrelated issues but not this one; Admin-enabled installation attempts of sp102329.exe still lead to...

Regarding doing a clean install of Windows, I'll be doing that in the next week or so when MS releases a patch for the currently buggy Windows 10 version 2004 upgrade.

So in the meantime, if anyone has some suggestions on what to tweak in order to get this 🤬 HP Support Assistant to install, it would be appreciated! 😉
