Since Windows 10 updated its operating system today, I am getting an annoying pop up window with a "bing!" telling me the scan is no longer activated as the internet connection is lost. I am using ethernet and it is working fine. How do I make it go away?

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand you have a popup message - "scan to computer is no longer activated" and you want to turn it off,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you try disabling the popup?
Have you looked at any related HP Forums post that may have helped others? Click here to view a workaround that has helped.
While you check that out and if it doesn't work, try the below steps:
- You can disable this by deactivating the scan to computer feature.
- On your desktop double-click the printer icon.
- In the new screen click on "manage scan to computer"
- In the new screen uncheck the Automatically start Scan to Computer
- and click the disable button.
When you want to scan, launch the HP Scan application and complete the scan.
But if you wants to do Scan to computer from the control panel of the printer, then you need to activate this back and 'Manage to scan'
Keep me posted for further assistance 😉

I had an Officejet 6500 for 8 years and it gave good service. But this error message was really annoying. I've just bought a new Officejet Pro 8710 and I had hoped that things would have moved on, and I would no longer get the message.
WRONG !!!!
I don't want to disable anything - I could have bought a cheaper printer with fewer features.
Why can'tr HP sort this out?
