Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
The computer came with MCAfee security pre-installed. I never ordered that product. Now they want money to keep the security going. I would like to switch to Microsoft firewall and security. How do I do that? It won't let me turn on the Windows firewall."

Uninstall McAfee in the computer

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click System on the Settings menu.
  4. Select Apps & features from the left pane. ...
  5. Select mcAfee app you wish to uninstall.
  6. Click the Uninstall button that appears.

Turn Windows Defender Firewall on

  • Select the Start  button > Settings  > Update & Security  > Windows Security and then Firewall & network protectionOpen Windows Security settings
  • Select a network profile.
  • Under Windows Defender Firewall, switch the setting to On.
