Hi @shinime, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Laptop 15-fc0xxx is having trouble enabling the touchscreen and biometric security (fingerprint). Let's go through some troubleshooting steps for both issues.
1. Enabling the Touchscreen
Check if Your Laptop Has a Touchscreen
- Press Win + X → Select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices.
- Look for HID-compliant touch screen.
- If present: Right-click → Enable (if disabled).
- If missing: Your laptop may not have a touchscreen or the driver needs installation.
Install/Update the Touchscreen Driver
- Right-click HID-compliant touch screen → Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart the laptop and test the touchscreen.
Reinstall Touchscreen Drivers
- Right-click HID-compliant touch screen → Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop (Windows will reinstall the driver automatically).
2. Setting Up Biometrics (Fingerprint)
Check for Fingerprint Reader in Device Manager
- Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
- Expand Biometric devices or Other devices.
- Look for Fingerprint Sensor (e.g., Synaptics, Validity, or ELAN).
- If missing, the sensor may not be detected or drivers need installation.
Install/Update Fingerprint Driver
- Go to HP’s support website: HP Support
- Enter your laptop's serial number or model (15-fc0xxx).
- Download & install the fingerprint sensor driver (if available).
- Restart the laptop.
Set Up Fingerprint in Windows Hello
- Go to Settings (Win + I) → Accounts → Sign-in options.
- Under Fingerprint recognition (Windows Hello), click Set up.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to scan your fingerprint.
If Issues Persist
- Run Windows Update (Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update).
- Run HP Support Assistant to check for driver updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
