Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
If by "making sounds" you mean you get beeping noises whenever you press certain keys on the keyboard, that implies that the keyboard is malfunctioning and would need to be replace.
Laptop keyboard, unlike external keyboard, are meant to be lightweight, not rugged, so they can not actually be repaired; instead, they are designed to be replaced.
Problem is, with an older laptop that is out of warranty, although the actual keyboard could be as cheap as $25 USD (I've replaced a few, myself), the labor costs can be very high -- to the degree that they exceed the cost of replacing the laptop.
So, my suggestion is that you take the laptop to a repair facility and get them to provide you an estimate of how much it would cost to replace the keyboard. Also, you should ask them about running hardware diagnostics in the laptop to see if anything else is failing.
Good Luck
