Hi @charan1323,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop’s touchpad is not working and you suspect the touchpad driver is missing, you can reinstall it by following these HP-recommended steps.

Step-by-Step: Reinstall Touchpad Driver on Windows 11

1. Use HP’s Official Driver Page

Visit HP’s support page to download the correct touchpad driver for your specific laptop model:

🔗 Official HP® Support

  • Enter your laptop’s product number (e.g., 14-dw1024nr or 15s-eq2144AU).
  • Go to the Driver – Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices section.
  • Download the Synaptics, ELAN, or Precision Touchpad driver listed.
  • Install and restart your laptop.

2. Use Device Manager to Reinstall Automatically

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click any touchpad-related entry and choose Update driver.
  • Select Search automatically for drivers.

If no touchpad is listed, click Action > Scan for hardware changes.

3. Enable Touchpad in Settings

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.
  • Make sure the toggle is turned on.

4. Check BIOS Settings

Sometimes the touchpad is disabled at the firmware level.

  • Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • Navigate to Advanced > Built-in Device Options.
  • Ensure Touchpad is set to Enabled.
  • Save and exit.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
