Hi @ShivMahesh,
Thanks for writing back.
If your HP Notebook 15-g207ax recognizes all other USB devices except your mobile phone, there could be a few reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:
1. Check the USB Cable and Port
- Try a different USB cable: Sometimes, the cable used for charging may not support data transfer. Ensure you're using a cable that supports both charging and data transfer.
- Test different USB ports: Connect your mobile to another USB port on your laptop to see if the issue persists.
2. Check the Mobile Device Settings
- Enable USB Debugging (Android): If you're using an Android device, ensure that USB debugging is enabled.
- Go to Settings > About phone > Software information.
- Tap on Build number seven times to unlock Developer options.
- Go back to Settings > Developer options > Enable USB Debugging.
- Select USB Mode (Android): When you connect your phone to your laptop, pull down the notification shade and select the USB option. Choose File Transfer (MTP) instead of Charging only.
- Trust This Computer (iPhone): If you're using an iPhone, you should see a prompt to "Trust This Computer" when connecting it to your laptop. Make sure to trust the connection.
3. Update Drivers
- Device Manager: Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
- Look for any entries with a yellow exclamation mark under Portable Devices or Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- If you find any, right-click on the entry and choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
4. Check Mobile Device Settings on Laptop
- Windows Troubleshooter: Run the Windows troubleshooter for hardware and devices.
- Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.
- Check for Conflicts: Sometimes, other USB devices can cause conflicts. Disconnect all other USB devices and try connecting your phone again.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @ShivMahesh,
Please find the remaining steps below
5. Restart Both Devices
- Restart the laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connection issues.
- Restart your mobile device: Turn off your phone, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on before reconnecting it.
6. Check for Software Updates
- Update your phone's software: Ensure your phone's operating system is up to date.
- Update Windows: Make sure Windows is fully updated by going to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
7. Try Connecting to Another Computer
- Test with another computer: Connect your mobile device to another computer to see if it is recognized. If not, the issue might be with the mobile device itself.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with your mobile device's USB port or software. In such a case, contacting the mobile manufacturer's support team may be necessary.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
