@Nehagoindani, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand your HP Notebook's touchpad isn't working, even after a restart. Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.
Enable Touchpad via Settings
Sometimes the touchpad may be disabled accidentally.
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.
- Ensure the Touchpad toggle is turned On.
If it's already on, proceed to the next step.
Update or Reinstall Touchpad Driver
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click on your touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics, ELAN, or HID-compliant touchpad) and choose:
- Update driver → Select Search automatically for drivers.
- If that doesn’t help, choose Uninstall device, then restart your PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Download Latest Drivers from HP
Visit the official HP support page to download the latest touchpad drivers: Official HP® Support
- Enter your notebook’s model number.
- Select your operating system.
- Download and install the latest Touchpad or Input drivers listed.
Use HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix many issues:
- Download or open HP Support Assistant: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Run the tool and check for updates or diagnostics related to the touchpad.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
