Hi,

Thanks for the update.

No, this does not put your warranty at risk.

Let me clarify :

Your warranty and warranty period is valid for the computer itself, for the hardware. It does not cover software issues like HPSA.

HP Support Assistant (HPSA) is usually helpful software that can help you with certain task such as diagnostics, system info OR messages and updates for drivers, etc..... However, this software is not mandatory and your computer will work well even without it.  If it causes you problems or inconveniences, just remove/unistall it. That's it - no problem with the warranty. Especially on Windows 10 (newer Windows version) , there are other methods to deliver updates on drivers, for example - you can use Windows Update or Device Manager - here is how > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139

Thank you for choosing HP. Please, let me know if I can assist you further 🙂

Hello,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.

May be you should reinstall HP Support Assistant (HPSA).

Please, navigate to Control Panel >> Programs and features

Navigate to Uninstall a program

Uninstall HP Support Assistant or similar (whatever present - support assistant/support framework).

Restart your computer

Re-download fresh new version of HP Support Assistant HPSA

Run the .exe to reinstall the program.

Upon successful reinstallation, please restart your PC once again.

Does it open now ?

Please, ensure you have no 3rd party security software (especially firewalls) that may be blocking HPSA from communication
