I'm new to win 10, have new HP laptop. I have music files on my usb, i see the files but they won't transfer to a folder. How do i transfer them? The steps i read don't work. I contacted HP, they referred me to a paid 3rd party for support.  New pc & paid support?

Thanks,

tom

HP support is for technical problems with the equipment -- not for tutorials on how to use the PC.

So, my first question is where the music files came from.  That is important because if the came from another PC, and they were stored under the "users" folder on that PC, then you will have a permissions issue if you try to copy them to the default storage location on your PC -- which is also the "users" folder system.

You might be able to work around this by creating a new folder on C, name it what you want, and see if File Manager will then let you copy (not MOVE) the files to that folder.
