HP Notebook - 15-db0005dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to free up memory on my HP Notebook - 15-db0005dx.

What HP apps can I safely remove that are not needed.  My Notebook is old and no longer under service warranty.
These are the Apps I'm asking about whether they are needed for it to run and perform properly:

HP Hardware Diagnostics Windows (since my device is no longer supported by HP service)
HP Connection Optimizer
HP ePrint SW
HP Jumpstart Apps
HP Jumpstart Bridge
HP Jumpstart Launch

Thank you!

Hi @Juliew144,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

HP JumpStart Launch:

  • This app provides introductory content and tutorials which are not essential for daily use once you are familiar with your device.

HP Audio Switch:

  • If you do not frequently switch between multiple audio outputs, you can uninstall this application.

HP Support Assistant:

  • Since your device is no longer under warranty, you may not need this app. However, it can be useful for driver updates and troubleshooting, so uninstall it only if you have other means to handle these tasks.

HP Sure Connect:

  • If you don’t have connectivity issues, this app can be safely removed.

HP Documentation:

  • Includes user guides and manuals which you can usually access online if needed, so it's safe to uninstall if you prefer to free up space.

HP Registration Service:

  • This is only used for product registration and can be safely removed once completed.

I hope this helps.
