Hi there @Nitin114, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

If Windows Hello is not working on your OMEN 16-wf1000 laptop, here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Windows Hello Compatibility

Ensure your laptop supports Windows Hello facial recognition or fingerprint login. The OMEN 16-wf1000 series typically supports IR camera-based facial recognition, but this can vary by configuration.

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options
  • Under Facial recognition (Windows Hello) or Fingerprint recognition, check if it says “This option is currently unavailable” or “We couldn’t find a camera compatible with Windows Hello”

Update the IR Camera Driver

Windows Hello relies on the IR camera. If the driver is outdated or missing, it won’t work.

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras
  3. Look for HP IR Camera or RealSense/Hello Camera
  4. Right-click and choose Update driver
  5. Select Search automatically for drivers

Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers from HP Support: Official HP® Support

Run Windows Hello Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot
  2. Click Additional troubleshooters
  3. Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter

Check for Windows Updates

Sometimes Windows Hello issues are resolved with OS updates.

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update
  • Click Check for updates
  • Install all pending updates and restart

Re-register Windows Hello

If the feature is available but not working:

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options
  2. Remove the existing Face or Fingerprint data
  3. Restart your laptop
  4. Re-add your face or fingerprint

BIOS and Firmware Update

Ensure your BIOS is up to date, as it can affect camera initialization.

A quick “Yes” also goes a long way in showing appreciation!

Take care and happy computing!
