I downloaded your Autoruns log file. In the mean time, please check your hardware, do the DISM thing and check for malware (details posted above).

Looking forward to your update :generic:

I cannot be sure from the Autoruns log files but there are which I find "interesting" and "potentially responsible" for the issue:

- BitReplica - tries to perform copies of your files - usually intenstive task for the HDD. Might conflict with other apps

-  I see some left overs from Google Drive/OneDrive - not sure if you actively use them but these are disk and network intensive programs which under certain condition might cause slow down, crashes for a short period (especially on first usage). They scan your data for files which needs to be restored or backed-up.

- Dropbox - should be active - same as the notes for One Drive / Google Drive.

- HP Support Assistant - HP software . If automatic updates/diagnostics enabled - might be disk intensive and network intensive. Used for drivers updates, diagnostics, etc. May be useful but is not a mandatory application and your PC might also work even without it

- IOBit - most like not causing issues but IOBit software has/had a bad reputation in the online communities

- 2 anticheap apps - I am not familiar with them - if you play games check if these are active

- Virtual Box (VBox) entries
- ESET entries

Do you use Virtual Machines ? If yes, how about the possibility of having resource overload from them ? They also use network and other drivers. Did you ever had an ESET software (NOD32 or something) before now/today , before I asked you to scan with it ?

I tried out virtual machines because I heard it was safer. I do use ESET Security (a few days after I got this pc). I also tried DISM ,but i got error 6801.

Do you actively use the VBox / OS in virtual machines ?

ESET products are good and light. However, make sure you specifically exclude from scanning certain folders such as:

- the Google Drive/OneDrive/Dropbox sync folder

- HP Suppport assistant  (if you decide to keep it)

- BitReplica

- VirtualBox machines

- any games you might have on your PC

These have already been scanned and are known to be clean - less likely to post any risk. Excluding them will make the antivirus not to scan them, therefore prevent any conflicts.

Here is how to do it in ESET >> https://support.eset.com/kb2769/?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US

By the way, Windows 10 1809 upgrade has been released

If you believe you are good for the upgrade,I'd suggest you uninstall any security products before upgrading.

VIsit  https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

Download the Media Creation Tool or the upgrade tool and manually update to the latest Windows 10 version. Reinstall security products afterwards.

I did the HP diagnostics and the Hard Drive DST failed ,the failure id is 9GD8XK-8NX98N-XD7UQI-60T803

I can already guess the hard drive is failing because defrag was tuck on pass 1 0% for over an hour a few times.

It's been almost a week since you first posted about this issue but I'm glad that you was finally able to find > the root cause< of all your issues.

Here are your options on fixing the problem:

1) If your computer is still under warranty, please contact HP Support and inform them. They will work with you about the way to replace the faulty component for free.  Contact HP:

2) If your computer is with warranty period expired, you will need to replace the faulty HDD - buy new one on your own. There are variety of options - vendors you can choose from. You can get it online or from PC retail store, or from HP parts store http://partsurfer.hp.com/

You need HDD with the very same size as the current one or bigger (small will not work) - e.g. if your current HDD is with 500 GB capacity, your new HDD/SDD must also be 500 GB or with bigger capacity.  I recommend you consider HDDs with RPM 7200 as they as slightly faster, 5400 RPM is slower >> https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/r/rpm.htm

SSDs are the recommended storage device nowadays >> https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001396.htm

*** How to replace the faulty HDD with new HDD or new SSD :  please, find info and instruction in your computer's manual or watch YouTube videos examples for your HP model.

If you do not want to do this on your own, please bring the computer (or ship it) to HP Authorized Service Center where the technicians will do this for you. If you are not sure where such a center is located, check these or contact HP for assistance in finding the nearest one for you:

3) Last part - once you replace the faulty component - you will need to reinstall back your operating system - Windows or another.  Let me know if you need assistance on reinstalling Windows 10.

Please, let me know how it goes and do post back if you need assistance.

Sorry for the late reply, I got my hdd replaced as it was under store warranty and my computer works with blue screens or being slow due to a failing hard drive.

I will replace all future computers I get with WD if the preinstalled hard drive is made by Seagate.
