HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Fonts in some applications and their scale are not displayed correctly. In the settings there is recommended scaling (125%), font smoothing is enabled, tried all the options. Some partially solve the problems, but the applications become small and the fonts are not always clear.
At the forum, Microsoft says to appeal in support of the laptop manufacturer.
In what there can be a problem and how it to solve (drivers the most recent)?

@Incheet

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand the fonts in certain applications and their scale aren't displayed correctly,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you ensured the ClearType text is turned on for better font visibility?
  • Did you select a customer scaling level using the windows settings?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

1. Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings

display settings

2. Click "Advanced display settings" at the bottom of the settings window.

display settings advanced

3. Verify that your monitor is set to the recommended, native resolution. If it's not, set it to the recommended resolution at least for this calibration process.

Once you've ensured the right or preferred resolution has been selected, Select the below option:

You could go through these settings to select the preference that suits your needs the best,

If you've done all of the above and yet the issue persists or you are unable select any of these options, please create a new user account and check if that works fine (Ensure its an administrator account).

The laptop did not have windows when buying. So this problem has nothing to do with the settings.

@Incheet

Thank you for responding,

I'm afraid there's nothing free in this world, that said, if you have a MSDN account, you could get a beta version or others depending on availability, you can check more about that here:
