14-DG0521SA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys

I really hope someone can help me.

I have two sons who have the identical laptop 14-DG0521SA. There systems did some windows updates over the weekend and now the touchpads dont work on either of them.

I looked in device manager and the touchpads arent showing in there. So i tried to reinstall the driver - Still doesnt work.

So i reset the bios back to factory and ran a full factory reset on each with an external mouse.

Still no joy 😞 Can somebody please help me? I fail to beleive that two would go at the same time if it was hardware.

I also updated both of the BIOS on both laptops but still the same.

@RobbieRw,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

This could either be an issue related to software or hardware. Before you come to any conclusion. I would suggest you perform a system reset on the PC.

You may follow the steps suggested in this support document for  - HP PCs - Resetting Your Computer (Windows 10)

For some reason, if this does not help then I would suggest you could try to use HP Cloud Recovery Tool which allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive.

If this option does not work then you can follow this link: HP PCs - Obtaining PC Recovery USB Drives or Discs Or else you may contact our HP support team to help you order a set of recovery media for your PC.

HP support team can be reached on this link

Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.
