son bought laptop for schoolwork and camera can’t be found error code 0xA00F4244 no cameras attached, is there an actual camera installed in this laptop?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
This occurs if the camera privacy switch has been moved to the OFF position (it is ON by default).

When the privacy switch is set to OFF, the "Camera" device is not present in Device Manager.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the webcam and in order to fix this issue, your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.
