Hi @fb3z,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP Chromebook 14a-na1083cl to your LG 4K smart TV using a USB-C to HDMI adapter, there are a few steps and considerations to ensure it works correctly.

Check Compatibility

Ensure USB-C Port Supports Video Output: Not all USB-C ports support video output. Check the specifications of your HP Chromebook 14a-na1083cl to confirm that its USB-C port supports DisplayPort over USB-C or HDMI Alt Mode. You can usually find this information in the user manual or on the HP support website.

Adapter Compatibility: Ensure that the USB-C to HDMI adapter you are using is compatible with your Chromebook and supports 4K output if that is required.

Troubleshooting Steps

Connect Properly:

  • Plug the USB-C end of the adapter into your Chromebook.
  • Connect the HDMI end of the adapter to an HDMI cable.
  • Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into an available HDMI port on your LG 4K TV.

Select the Correct Input on TV:

  • Use the TV remote to select the HDMI input that corresponds to the port you connected the Chromebook to.

Adjust Display Settings on Chromebook:

  • Go to your Chromebook settings by clicking the time in the lower right corner and selecting the gear icon.
  • Navigate to “Device” > “Displays”.
  • Ensure that the external display (your LG TV) is detected.
  • Adjust the resolution settings if necessary to match the TV's resolution.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
