HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

Thank you to whomever reads this. I appreciate the help. I just purchased 2 external monitors that I wish to connect to my HP laptop. I use the editing program, AVID, and my hope was to use dual monitors to edit. I have 2 USB ports, 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI port on my laptop. My problem is, I can't get the 2nd monitor to work. The 1 monitor works which is connected via the single HDMI port on my laptop. Everything I try doesn't work. I purchased a dual hdmi adapter that plugs into my USB-C port. That didn't work. I even just purchased an USB-VGA adapter and THAT isn't even working. My monitors support HDMI and VGA connection only.

I've tried everything my mind could think of. I've installed drivers and everything. I don't know if my antivirus is blocking the adapters? I'm trying everything and nothing is working.

Thank you again.

What is your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J5AV)  machine ? It could be one of the following machines. For example

            HP Laptop 17-cn0009ds

Which shows It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

For more connectivity, please use

                         True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.
